This week’s scanning was made up of a little bit of this and a tad of that.
We found pictures of John & Marilyn Wheeler at their wedding in 1955.
Some more Navy pictures.
Another slide tray belonging to my Grandmother, Ruth Clark.
There were also a lot of pictures of me (Kim) showing up this week.
It’s a curious thing, seeing yourself as a child so many years ago. Of particular note to me was the things that my young mother thought I could handle. And granted, I was a precocious little thing, always up for a challenge… ok, well, maybe not so much. But still…
Like sitting precariously atop a sign, high in the air when I was only 1.5 years old.
Allowing me to hold my tiny baby sister, hoping I didn’t just drop her on purpose. (See that evil look in my eye?)
Or giving me a soda bottle to hold on to, hoping I didn’t get addicted. (too late)
My favorite pictures this time, though, were the ones of my young parents on their wedding day. How handsome was Dad in that Navy uniform and Mom was such a beauty! They were a newlywed couple in love, looking forward to their life together, not knowing what the future would bring, but hopeful and determined to face it as partners. And that partnership is still present and strong today, 62 years later.
Another favorite was of my Grandad Jim (James Wheeler) and my Great-Grandad, Arthur Wheeler. I haven’t seen many pictures of my Great-grandad and few of my Grandad Jim when he was younger, as he was in these pictures
.And a few others…
