Family Friendly Reading Recommendations: For Kids

June 17, 2017 by Kimberly Leave a Comment

Books Your Kids May Enjoy

Reading provides an escape, an adventure, trips to far-off places and times.  Reading to your kids can stimulate their imagination, increase their knowledge, and encourage them to learn.  Beginning early in life, they enjoy the nighttime, settle down, have a story read routine.  As they get older, their love of books can extend to reading on their own.  Give your kids the gift of learning through reading.

Here are some suggestions for kids books from the readers in our audience. Maybe there is something here your children would enjoy, too.   If you would like to add to our list, please send a comment and we will take a look and include your suggestion if it fits our guidelines.

From reader Regina:

The “Mandie” series of books.  These books send the reader on adventures with Mandie Shaw as she solves mysteries and learns life lessons along the way.  Suited for girls 9-13, but readers outside of that demographic could enjoy these books as well.  There are quite a few books in this series, providing hours of entertainment.   This series would make a great gift!

One of my favorite collections to read to my kids long ago, that my Grandkids still enjoy are the Little Critter books.  Did you know that you can hunt for the little mouse & spider in every picture?  And this one is about Grandma – bonus!

That’s the list for now.  We will be adding to it along the way.   If you have any suggestions of your own, please comment below.  We’d love to know what you’re reading and enjoying!
