The prompt this week, week 3 of the 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks Challenge, is “Long Line”.
Well, I’m not quite sure what this means, but maybe it’s a long line of something in my family. A long line of royalty? If we go WAY back on Mom’s side, I know there is some royalty there…
But maybe we should talk about our long line of teachers.
Or a long line of brown eyes.
Or a long line of tongue-rollers??
What do YOU think it means?
We DO have a lot of teachers in the family that I’ve talked about before here. I’m proud of the long line of teachers in my family – my great-aunts, my aunts, my mom, my sisters, and now my nieces, Kelsey and Regan.
A lot of my family members have brown eyes. And hair. Not me – or my Aunt RuthAnn or my Grandma Ruth – we have/had green eyes and blonde hair. Sometimes I felt odd and left out because Dad, Mom and both my sisters have brown hair and eyes. I don’t. I’m VERY blonde (well, gray now, I guess). And I have green eyes. But my aunt and Grandma? It only takes remembering those two to know that I DO belong.
And tongue-rollers we are! Both my sons can roll their tongues, but their Dad can’t. It’s crazy. He just sticks it out, trying so hard. Who would have known that tongue-rolling was a thing and that a good number of the Wheeler family members ARE rollers! My Dad is, Mom not so much…
Can you roll your tongue?
This is my happy family of tongue rollers. My sister Janet (who passed away in 2014), Dad, Mom (who can’t roll her tongue… lol), Me, and my crazier sister, Sue, in our laps.
We come from a long line of awesome people. We must – just look at us!
Family names – Wheeler, Lewis, Clark, Graham, from England, Scotland, Wales, according to Ancestry DNA. And that royalty I mentioned? It’s not factually documented, but, I’m looking into it. I’ll keep you posted!
